Burning Question
A burning question is an opportunity, situation, issue or challenge that is needing to be faced. It is pivotally important, and it is calling for innovation – a response that is unfamiliar, untried and that requires a transformation of familiar formulae for success. Examples of burning questions are:
- How can we create more sustainable ways of living in cities e.g. by thinking of large-scale reliance on local foods
- How do we need to shift professional practices, mindsets and identities so that working in health service delivery is good for health providers’ and patients’ health?
- How can we take green building to the next level into green neighbourhoods and towns and cities?
- How should we in the western international development world shift the way we work in the face of the conditions being brought on by climate change?
